Kumara crew helps ex-prisoners change lives - employment training

Kumara has been helping some newly released prisoners get their lives back on track in Northland. The Salvation Army Education and Employment (E&E) Corrections Employment Services programme has been placing released prisoners into work in Northland and helping change their lives.

The Salvation Army’s Education and Employment (E&E) Community Driver Mentor Programme in Christchurch won the inaugural Community Initiative of the Year category at the 2015 Deloitte Energy Excellent Awards on 12 August.


An E&E course training people to work in the Canterbury rebuild has led to a programme mentoring young drivers.
